Nose plastic surgery must be at an all time high in Beverly Hills. It seems like every time you turn around, some celebrity has a new nose. Many of them had fine noses to begin with. On the other hand, there are many people out there, who might not be ready for Hollywood and it’s more likely to be London, but might be ready for a new nose or at least an improvement on their current one.
Wondering if you’re ready to get a new nose? Here are guidelines doctors use to determine if a patient is ready for nose plastic surgery:
· You’ve thought this through thoroughly (how’s that for alliteration?). You might come out with an absolutely adorable new nose but is it still you? Getting a nose job isn’t like getting your hair cut or colored so do your research.
· Age. No age limit exists for anybody who wants a rhinoplasty as long as the person is healthy. Doctors do usually put minimums on the ages for teens who want nose jobs. Girls usually have to wait until they are 15 and boys should wait until they are 18. This is because they are not done growing.
· Healthy. Rhinoplasty is real surgery requiring general anesthesia and recovery time. Being healthy includes not having any bleeding disorders. You need to have stopped smoking and be prepared to not smoke during recovery.
· You have reasonable expectations about what the rhinoplasty will do for you. Even if you get a nose like Angelina Jolie, you are not going to look like her after the surgery.
· You have a birth defect affecting the nose’s appearance or functionality.
· You have a broken nose that you’d like to fix for either cosmetic reasons or for improved breathing.
· You want to fix a less than stellar first time nose job. Make sure you find a plastic surgeon who is experienced in performing rhinoplasties. If the second time doesn’t work out right, it will be much harder to make the third time a charm.
